What to know about your furnace before you call for repair... NEW Info added...

First off you need to know if it is gas fired or an electric furnace with electrically heated coils which give you your heat. If it's gas you still need electricity so make a list of things you know starting with is the switch on the side of the furnace in the off position? If you get past that and still there's nothing going on yet think back and figure out if all the bad things started after you last changed the filter. If that's the case you may have inadvertantly left the door on the bottom of the furnace ajar. If it's not on properly it kills the electricity to the rest of the furnace. If that's on correctly you need to check your breakers or fuses if your house is an older home. Once you've checked the power go over to your thermostat and kick the fan switch from auto to on. If that doesn't do anything it is probably time to call Autumn Air Company.

If you have an electric furnace it's more about checking the breakers and fuses. Don't be taking those apart as they get quite dangerous for a homeowner and it becomes dangerous very quickly.

If you have any further questions you can always call and we can talk before we come out. I don't want to go out on a call you could have figured out with just a little helpful advice. I like actually fixing things.

Thanks... Gary
