If the blower comes on with the "thermostat on switch" that tells us we have electricity to the furnace. You can flip the thermostat back to "auto". If it still doesn't heat and you know for sure it's got an ignition system, (Normally if the furnace was made after 1992) go ahead and turn the power to the furnace off at the furnace. (Usually a light switch.) Turn it back on and

This is just the most obvious thing... There's more and only a trained professional will be able to check those things. But this thing is something you can control. If you do clean it yourself make sure the power is turned off at the disconnect box. Just turning it off with the thermostat doesn't do a thing to kill the 230 volts out there. Be careful.

You can even get a rebate if you only replace the air conditioner and evaporator coil. (Using your existing furnace.) Even a 14 SEER system put on an old furnace can get you a $400.00 check. Complete systems allowing you to climb over 16.00 SEER may get you $600.00.
Call if you have any questions.

First off you need to know if it is gas fired or an electric furnace with electrically heated coils which give you your heat. If it's gas you still need electricity so make a list of things you know starting with is the switch on the side of the furnace in the off position? If you get past that and still there's nothing going on yet think back and figure out if all the bad things started after yo

If you have a question please just call me and I will just answer it. No big deal. You're not obligated to buy anything. I'll just answer your question to the best of my ability. If you look on here there's been thousands of views of the more pertinent questions and almost no questions by homeowners. They apparently just get in here and read.
Thanks...

We've enrolled into that also in the last week as we were looking for a deal that we'd feel good about promoting to our customers. This is it. There's even a one year, no interest deal.
Thanks,

I went on this call where the unit was freezing and when the pressures were low yet very cold after being off all night I knew they had an air flow problem. This one turned out to be having the wrong filter size in place for years but not changing your filter will result in the same mess. Most of the time it takes a quite knowledgeable serviceman to get into the ductwork above the furnace to addr

This program offers rebates on certain qualifying energy efficient equipment. It isn't automatic but we will provide the details on where to go to participate.
As I stated, more later.

SEER is simply a formula that is described by the outcome of the following equation:
Divide the system's rated BTU's by it's stated SEER rating to determine how many watts it consumes per hour, (KWH stands for kilo-watt hour).
Here's the formula (we'll use for the 3 ton unit we mentioned on the post above, 15 SEER system for this comparison):
36,000 Btu's (3 tons) (12,000 BTU's per to

Here's some examples followed by a couple intangibles...
A given 3 ton system yearly operating expense in one part of the country is:
13 SEER = $805.00
14 SEER = $747.50
16 SEER = $632.50
The intangibles are. If it's a 2 speed system what is the SEER rating when it's running only on the 1st stage most of the time. (They don't tell you.. I would think it's in the 20's for SEER..)

You have to ask yourself who named them number 1? Was it some consumer protection group or was it profit magazine?
Just food for thought...
Good luck with your air conditioner in all of this heat.

You really have to work to get to the ratings as you get bombarded with the guys bribing Google all piled at the top many without any good ratings whatsover. (No kidding here. One of the big names in Saint Charles has more negative feedbacks then anything else. The only good ones you find there are apparently written by him or his minions and you can tell it by the way it's written..) Here

If you are noticing your air flow is starting to loose its velocity as well as temperature you might want to take a trip outside and check the outside air conditioner. Once out there look at where the foam covered line comes out of the unit. Specifically where the copper from the unit goes into the foam. If that's frozen up, (bright white ice) that means the entire coil above the furnace all the

If it goes out completely the outside unit will continue to pump the refrigerant and once the inside has stopped the refrigerant no longer gets converted to a gas bringing back liquid refrigerant to the compressor which it can not compress as it is still in a liguid state and depending on how much is still in liquid form may take your compressor out. Your motor on the furnace or air handler may b

If your air conditioner stops cooling you need to check a few things before you call for service.
1. Is the fan on the inside working? If it's not working you need to make sure the furnace isn't either shut off inadvertantly, tripped breaker, blower door has fallen off or isn't closed completely (there's a safety switch that will shut the unit down completely when the door isn't completely clo
